Hillsdale College Launches Online Course on Aristotle’s Ethics
College President Larry Arnn teaches 10-week course examining Nicomachean Ethics
Hillsdale, Mich.— Hillsdale College announces its new free online course, “Introduction to Aristotle’s Ethics: How to Lead a Good Life.”
In the 10-lecture course, Hillsdale College President Larry P. Arnn leads 10 Hillsdale College students through a discussion of the main topics of the Nicomachean Ethics, including human nature, the meaning of the good, and the virtues necessary for human happiness.
“Incoming freshmen at Hillsdale College are given this book to read prior to beginning coursework,” said Arnn. “It introduces them to the question of how best to live, a question central to liberal education. This is the first book written on the subject, and—apart from the Bible—remains the very best.”
