Hillsdale College Named One of Nation’s “Best 385 Colleges”
Hillsdale earns high marks in key academic and campus life rankings
Hillsdale, Mich. – Hillsdale College has again been ranked among the nation’s “Best 385 Colleges” by The Princeton Review. Released on August 6, the annual rankings name Hillsdale among the best colleges in the Midwest and rank it highly on various lists related to the quality of academics and student life.
“We are pleased to see Hillsdale College named as one of The Princeton Review’s leading institutions of higher education,” said Christopher VanOrman, Hillsdale College provost. “The dedication of our faculty, staff, and students make Hillsdale one of the nation’s finest liberal arts colleges, and it is encouraging to see that excellence recognized.”
In addition to profiling the nation’s 385 best colleges, The Princeton Review produces lists of the top 20 schools in various categories. On these lists, Hillsdale College was ranked:

– 3 for Best College Newspaper
– 4 for Students Most Engaged in Community Service
– 4 for Most Religious Students
– 10 for Most Politically Active Students
– 12 for Professors Get High Marks
– 13 for Most Accessible Professors
– 19 for Students Study the Most
Colleges are also given ratings in various categories based on institutional data collected during the 2018-19 academic year and/or a student survey conducted by The Princeton Review. Hillsdale College scored highly in many categories, including:
