Hillsdale, Mich. — In its newly announced 2021 rankings, Forbes lists Hillsdale College as one of America’s best undergraduate academic institutions. The College ranked 162nd out of 600 top universities in the country. It was also ranked 85th among private colleges, 36th in liberal arts universities, and 22nd in the Midwest.

“Such rankings are a good reminder that Hillsdale College takes seriously its mission to provide an education ‘outstanding among American colleges,’” said Christopher VanOrman, provost.

The Forbes report selected colleges and universities with over 300 undergraduate students based on its Carnegie Classification, deemed by Forbes “a higher education framework that categorizes schools by their degree offerings, research output and specialty focus.”

Forbes analyzed records of alumni salary, student debt, return on investment, graduation rate, and the Forbes American leaders list to determine the rankings, each of which was higher for Hillsdale College than those received in 2019.
