Hillsdale College Seniors Receive Honors at National Student Production Awards
Radio Free Hillsdale student broadcasters recognized for work in audio newscast, audio documentary
Hillsdale, Mich. – Hillsdale College congratulates seniors Ryan Kelly Murphy and Jenna Suchyta on their awards from College Broadcasters Inc.’s National Student Production Awards, which recognize exceptional student work in media. Murphy won third place for Best Audio Newscast, and Suchyta’s documentary, “The Problem of Pain,” earned fourth place for Best Audio Documentary.
The work of Murphy and Suchyta was broadcast on Radio Free Hillsdale, WRFH 101.7 FM, Hillsdale College’s student radio station, where Hillsdale College students produce and host a variety of news and talk programs.
College Broadcasters, Inc. provides education and awards programming to students and advisors of college and high school media outlets across the country. Each year, hundreds of students submit their work for consideration in the National Student Production Awards. Industry professionals evaluate submissions and name four finalists in each of the categories. This year’s awards were announced at the National Student Electronic Media Convention hosted in Seattle from October 24 to 27.
