HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Shotgun Team traveled to Marengo, Ohio to compete in the ACUI/SCTP Upper Midwest Conference Championship and International Championship from Oct. 5-9. The team competed against more than 110 athletes from eight colleges and was awarded “Team High Overall,” the most prestigious prize of the event.

“This was our first major shoot of the year and we performed quite well,” said Head Shotgun Coach Jordan Hintz. “The event was a marathon and every single team member put up a score in at least one discipline.”

The International Championship featured international skeet and trap competitions. The Midwest Conference Championship consisted of American skeet, skeet doubles, sporting clays, super sporting, American trap, and trap doubles. The team performed well in all categories — earning first place in international skeet, sporting clays, super sporting, American skeet, and skeet doubles. On the final day of competition, they tied for first place in American trap and trap doubles.

The team ended the competition with a total team score of 2099/2250, earning them the “Team High Overall” prize.
