Hillsdale College Tower Players Produce “Blithe Spirit” by Noel Coward
Hillsdale, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Tower Players opened their production of “Blithe Spirit” by Noel Coward on Sept. 29. The play runs in the College’s Markel Auditorium through Oct. 3. Students and community members filled the auditorium with laughter on the show’s opening night.
“The Tower Players produce stellar performances each year, featuring both theater majors and non-theater majors,” said James Brandon, chairman and professor of theater. “This year is no exception. The students made me proud, and those who I spoke to in attendance greatly enjoyed the performance.”
The comedy sees novelist Charles Condomine agree to participate in a séance with friends. While tampering with the spirit world, Charles’s ex-wife proceeds to haunt him and attempts to break up his new marriage.
“Blithe Spirit” is directed by Michael Beyer, lighting designer and production manager, and has upcoming shows on Friday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 2, at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. Ticket reservations are required. Contact [email protected] or call (517) 607-2848.
The Tower Players produce plays at Hillsdale College, generally three main-stage productions each year and numerous one-act and workshop productions.
