Hillsdale College’s Adam Carrington Named Professor Of The Year
Professor of politics honored by 2018 graduating class
Hillsdale, Mich. — Hillsdale College congratulates professor Adam Carrington on being named Professor of the Year by Hillsdale’s 2018 graduating class.
Carrington is an assistant professor of politics, instructing both undergraduates and graduate students in the Van Andel Graduate School of Statesmanship in the foundations of American democracy and political thought. He joined the Hillsdale College faculty in 2014 after completing his master’s and doctoral degrees in political science at Baylor University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and religion from Ashland University.
Carrington is the author of many academic articles, and his work has been published in a variety of scholarly journals, including American Journal of Legal History, Presidential Studies Quarterly, American Political Thought, Perspectives on Political Science and Journal of Southern Legal History. He is also the author of Justice Stephen Field’s Cooperative Constitution of Liberty: Liberty in Full. In February 2016, Carrington was name Teacher of Month by the Student Federation of Hillsdale College.
To be named professor of the year, educators must demonstrate exceptional character and teaching excellence, availability and generosity in their work with students outside the classroom, community support and good citizenship through involvement in campus and community organizations and events. Professors are nominated by students through a signed letter of recommendation.
