Hillsdale College’s Kirby Center Hosts Post-Election Panel On Future Of American Politics
Scholars and commentators discuss American politics after 2018 mid-term elections
On Thursday, November 8, Hillsdale College’s Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship will host a panel titled “2018 and the Future of American Politics.” The panel will feature the Hoover Institution’s director of D.C. programs Mike Franc, The Federalist senior writer Mary Katherine Ham, and Ethics and Public Policy Center senior fellow Henry Olsen in a discussion moderated by the Kirby Center’s lecturer and research fellow Michael Anton.

Mike Franc is the director of D.C. programs for the Hoover Institution, where he is also a research fellow. He was formerly the policy director and counsel for U.S. House of Representatives majority leader Kevin McCarthy, and also served as the Heritage Foundation’s vice president of government relations.
Mary Katherine Ham is a senior writer for The Federalist, as well as a contributor for CNN and Townhall Magazine. She previously was a contributor for Fox News and recently co-moderated a GOP primary debate for ABC.
Henry Olsen is a senior fellow for the Ethics and Public Policy Center and editor of UnHerd.com’s Flyover Country. He is also the author of The Working Class Republican: Ronald Reagan and the Return of Blue-Collar Conservatism.
Michael Anton is a lecturer and research fellow for Hillsdale College’s Kirby Center. He previously served in the Trump administration as deputy assistant to the president for strategic communications and has written for many national publications, including The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Weekly Standard, and The Claremont Review of Books.
