Michigan State Rep. Eric Leutheuser to Deliver Hillsdale Academy Commencement Address June 5

LeutheuserHillsdale Academy announced that Michigan State Rep. Eric Leutheuser will deliver the school’s commencement address on June 5, 2016.

“Rep. Leutheuser is a great example of advancing liberty by putting principles before politics,” said Hillsdale Academy Headmaster and Associate Professor of History Kenneth Calvert. “That is central to our teaching at Hillsdale Academy. As our students continue the pursuit of truth in their respective callings, we are proud that Rep. Leutheuser will offer his insights to our graduating seniors on their commencement day.”

First elected in 2014, Leutheuser represents the 58th District, which includes Hillsdale and Branch counties. He serves as the State House’s Majority Caucus Vice Chair.

For more than 30 years prior to his election, Rep. Leutheuser worked at Leutheuser Buick GMC, where he became general manager and dealer-operator in 1986. He and his wife Laura are graduates of Hillsdale College. They attend St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and are members of Right to Life of Hillsdale County. Their three daughters all graduated from both Hillsdale Academy and Hillsdale College.
