Students and Alumni Enjoy Homecoming Weekend Activities
Hillsdale, Mich. — Many Hillsdale College alumni and their families returned to campus for homecoming weekend held Sept. 24-26. Events included the College’s 70th annual Alumni Awards Banquet, fine arts events, a pancake breakfast, and an afternoon tailgate and parade before the Charger football team’s victory against Missouri S&T.
“We are always excited to welcome back our alumni,” said Colleen McGinness, executive director of alumni relations at Hillsdale College. “Though they are graduated and gone, our alumni are still a part of the Hillsdale community. We are always glad to welcome them home.”
Homecoming weekend is an annual celebration designed to give alumni and their families the opportunity to visit their alma mater, mingle with friends old and new, and reminisce about their time at Hillsdale.
Homecoming is also a time for Hillsdale College students to enjoy a week of activities and competitions that culminate in the much-anticipated Mock Rock, a dance and performance contest, which took place Saturday night after the football game. Students filled the stands, and alumni filled the College’s “Fifth Quarter” hospitality suite to watch the competition.
