Two Hillsdale College Students Win National College Broadcasters, Inc. Awards
Hillsdale, Mich. — Two Hillsdale College broadcast students have won national College Broadcasters, Inc. awards. Hillsdale College continues its legacy of College Broadcasters, Inc. (CBI) award winners, as this is the third first-place award for WRFH students.
“I’m very proud of our students for this well-deserved recognition,” said Scot Bertram, lecturer in journalism at Hillsdale College and general manager of WRFH, Hillsdale’s student-run radio station. “It’s satisfying to see the hard work and dedication Rachel and Abigail put into their shows rewarded with praise from a national organization like CBI.”
Rachel Kookogey, ’22, was honored with first-place for Best Sports Reporting (Sports Story Time: Superstitions) and fourth-place for Best Sports Reporting (Sports Story Time: Fan Throws). Abigail Snyder, ’24, was rewarded second-place for Best Regularly Scheduled Entertainment Program (The Virtual Voyage).
The winners were announced at a virtual convention in October.
