Wayne Nelson Appointed to Hillsdale College Board of Trustees
HILLSDALE, Mich. —Wayne Nelson has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Hillsdale College, a private classical liberal arts college in south central Michigan. Nelson is a philanthropist and co-founder of the Wayne and Marilyn Nelson Foundation.
“The Board of Trustees is critical to the shared endeavor of upholding and advancing the principles of freedom,” said Rich Péwé, chief administrative officer of Hillsdale College. “Hillsdale College has a history of providing the best liberal arts education in the nation, while upholding these principles. We are grateful for Mr. Nelson’s willingness to join us in this endeavor.”
“I look forward to serving the college’s work to pursue truth and defend liberty. Thank you to the Board of Trustees, Hillsdale College president Dr. Arnn, and all who have welcomed me to the college,” said Nelson.
Nelson graduated from Greenville University with a bachelor’s degree in business. Prior to his involvement as a philanthropist, he built, owned and managed the largest apartment communities in Indiana. Now he runs a private hedge fund.
He and his wife Marilyn reside in Longwood, Florida.
