For over two decades the Daughtrey Gallery has hosted both professional and College student art exhibits. It is a major teaching facility in the College Department of Art along with delighting thousands of campus and community visitors.
With over 1200 square feet of exhibit space and state of the art track lighting it has housed exhibits of both national and regional importance. Works by famous photographers such as Ansel Adams, Eugene Atget and Berenice Abbott have graced its walls. Sculptures by Frederick Hart, EvAngelos Frudakis, and Marc Mellon have been presented along with paintings by Richard Whitney, Anthony Ryder, and R. H. Ives Gammell. The Art faculty of the College exhibit frequently in the gallery. Every semester includes juried student art exhibits. All graduating senior art majors display the best of their work each spring. Overall, Daughtrey Gallery is a major contributor to the vibrant life of the arts at Hillsdale College.
