Informational Technology Services  - Academic and Business Services Generalist

The Information Technology Services Department at Hillsdale College is seeking an individual for the position of Academic and Business Services Generalist.

The Academic and Business Services Generalist will assist with support and training for the College’s academic and business software applications, various processes, workflows, and other resources used by faculty, staff, and students. Emphasis will focus upon the college’s learning management system and assisting with various aspects of integrated document management. Responsibilities include the ability to assess a situation and draw upon his or her knowledge, training, and experience to operate, support, document, and assist individuals in the use of various software, hardware, and business process. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities are broad in nature and include Window and Mac hardware, OS, Office, and other academic and business applications. Experience with Blackboard, ImageNow, or other learning management or integrated document management systems a plus. Always looking for excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; written and oral communication very important; being adept at analysis and evidence of creative problem solving a plus; must be able to work with minimal supervision, manage time, encourage teamwork, and be adaptable to change.

Full knowledge of College’s mission, culture, people, academic and administrative operations, systems, and available technologies are important for success. Bachelor’s degree, 2 to 4 years related experience desired.

Informational Technology Services  - Programmer Analyst

The Information Technology Services Department at Hillsdale College is seeking an individual for the position of Programmer Analyst.

Responsibilities of this position include integrating web, Microsoft applications, and enterprise solutions by developing applications using a combination of the following programming languages; ASP.NET, VB.Net, C#, VB Script, TSQL, and JavaScript in a professional environment.  Experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases, reporting services (or Crystal Reports), integration services and analysis services.  Working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague and or Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge in a higher education environment is a plus. 

 Characteristics:  Problem solving, organization, work with minimal supervision, teamwork, adapt and support change.

A Bachelor's degree and two to four years related experience and/or training is needed or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Microsoft Certified Developer credentials a plus; will work toward certification.

Information Technology Services - Web Developer

The Information Technology Services Department at Hillsdale College is seeking an individual for the position of Web Developer.

Responsibilities of this position include administering College web presence, infrastructure, server (IIS); maintain, develop, and implement enhancements to the current web site; create and maintain links between web applications and core systems. Also to develop a strategy to work with all College offices and departments, to promote the College’s message to provide our constituents with accurate, timely, web based content and services.

Characteristics:  Problem solving, organization, work with minimal supervision, teamwork, adapt and support change.  In depth working knowledge of HTML, ASP, ASP.NET, CSS, Photoshop, VB Script, Java, JavaScript, CMS, Windows Server, IIS, (Apache Tomcat), web-enabled DB environments, performance monitoring, web use/ tracking & reporting.

 A Bachelor's degree and two or more years of related experience and/or training is needed or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Dow Hotel & Conference Center – Guest Services Team Member

Team member needed to share in responsibilities of housekeeping in guest rooms, meeting rooms, public areas, and restrooms as well as conference room set-ups, laundry, and front desk operations. Must provide excellent customer service and perform job duties with attention to detail, speed and accuracy and be a self-motivator who is able to follow directions thoroughly.

Individual must be able to work flexible starting/stopping times, including weekends, based on occupancy and customer needs. This position is part-time as needed.
