Community Health

Hillsdale College

Mission

The GOAL Community Health Program aims to improve local wellness by supporting health initiatives and nonprofit organizations throughout Hillsdale County.

About

GOAL Community Health offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, both in the community and on-campus, through college-wide blood drives and bone marrow donor registry events.

Students assist local women and their families by volunteering with Alpha Omega Pregnancy Resource Center and the Early Pregnancy Loss Association, serve individuals otherwise unable to access health care through St. Peter’s Free Clinic and Smiles on Wheels Mobile Dental Clinic, and spend time with patients at the Hospice of Hillsdale County. Additionally, GOAL Community Health organizes and offers a holistic health program for Hillsdale High School which focuses on emotional, mental, and social health. As college students act as strong role models in a district struggling with poverty, family instability, drug use, and more, they form the next generation by challenging high-school students to pursue healthy habits and live lives of excellence.
