SITE: The Ken Herrick Outdoor Track & Field Complex, on the campus of Hillsdale College
SURFACES: The Ken Herrick Outdoor Track is an 8-lane, 400m, Mondo “Super X” surface- the same surface featured at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. The Shot Put, Discus and Hammer circles are concrete pads. The Javelin runway is grass.
ENTRY DEADLINE: Entries must be received by 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 22. Go to DirectAthletics.com to enter the Hillsdale “Gina” Relays.
ENTRY MARKS: Entry marks should be projections for this point in the season, not personal bests. This will ensure that each athlete will be placed into a heat or flight that they can handle at this point in the season. You may enter an athlete with no mark (NM), however, they will be placed in the slowest heat or weakest flight.
HEAT SHEETS: Heat sheets will be included with the coach's packets.
HEAT PROGRESSION: All of Friday's "invite" races will be started with the fastest heat in each race. All other heats will be run in the "open" sections Friday, going from slowest to fastest. The exception will be the 1500 meter run races on Saturday, which will be run from fastest to slowest.
CHECK-IN: Check-in will take place in the north end zone of the football field, which is located at the opposite end of the scoreboard.
TIMING/RESULTS: The track program will be using "On the Mark Timing" which provides outstanding FuinishLynx/Hy-Tek service. Results will be posted in the southwest area of the sports complex, against the wall, following each event. Check the Hillsdale College website for full results at the end of each day of competition.
FIELD EVENT CHECK-IN: All field event athletes should report to the Head Official at the event location.
IMPLEMENT WEIGH-IN: All implements must be weight in one hour before that event is scheduled to begin. Implements can be weighed at the northwest corner of the sports complex, at the opposite end of the site from the scoreboard.
THROWING EVENTS: All throwing event flights will be seeded. The top two flights will compete first. The top nine will advance to the finals. Any thrower in a later flight that posts a mark good enough to make the finals, will be entitled to three more attempts.
MINIMUM MEASUREMENTS: Minimum measurements will exist for the shot put, long jump and triple jump events. After the first attempt by any athlete in these events, only performances that are equal to, or better than the minimum measurements, will be measured. The minimums are aws follows:
