HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College’s Joy String Quartet performed a spring concert on April 19 and 20. Students, faculty and staff, and members of the community attended the performance in the Conrad Recital Hall.

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College’s Center for Military History and Strategy hosted author and historian Jeremy Black on April 10. At the event, Black spoke on his book “Imperial Legacies: The British and American Empires.”

“You should take German 101," German professor Fred Yaniga advised Emily Goodling at her freshman/faculty dessert reception. 14 years later with a Ph.D. in German, Emily is bringing a taste of the liberal arts to one of the world’s premier tech schools—Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)—as a lecturer of German.

Austin Sandusky, '19, works as a forensic scientist for the Nebraska State Patrol in Lincoln, Nebraska. Guided by the scientific principles he learned as a biochemistry major at Hillsdale, Austin strives to help find the truth in each case he handles.

From Alaska to Florida they came. The annual 50/60-Year Reunion event again brought Hillsdale College alumni back to campus to celebrate their anniversaries.

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The 2024 Emily Daugherty Award for Teaching Excellence was presented to Associate Professor of English Benedict Whalen. Faculty, students, and friends of Hillsdale College recognized Whalen at Spring Convocation on April 11.

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Members of the Hillsdale College 1974 and 1964 graduating classes returned to campus from April 10-12 to celebrate their 50- and 60-year class reunions. This year, those who graduated before 1974 were also invited to participate in the three-day event, which included campus and Halter Center tours, dinner with live music, cocktail receptions, trivia, and the opportunity to attend classes.

Dave Van Meter, '91, used his gritty, hard-nosed playing style on the Chargers basketball court. It was those qualities, as well as what he learned off the court at Hillsdale, that have helped propel him into a successful career in medical sales and entrepreneurship.

In addition to these four required core courses, to complete the minor, students may take any combination of electives from Military Leadership and Military History courses.

Whether you plan to serve in the armed forces after graduation or become a leader in a civilian career field, this minor prepares you for the responsibilities and challenges of leadership.
