John Cervini, ’74, distinguished himself academically and athletically while at Hillsdale. A business administration major with a biology minor, he played varsity football, was named Outstanding Scholar and Athlete in Michigan in 1973, started and coached the club lacrosse team, and also belonged to Omicron Delta Kappa and Epsilon Delta Alpha. Shortly after graduation, he began working for the College as director of alumni affairs. He served in that capacity for ten years, holding the position of director of the Annual Fund from 1979 to 1983, and assistant football coach from 1975 to 1985. In 1984, Cervini became vice president of marketing for the central region, and in 1985 was promoted to his current position as Vice President of Development, now known as Institutional Advancement. In this role, he has traveled extensively on behalf of the College to raise funds and cultivate relationships with supporters. In his 50-year career at Hillsdale, he has overseen five successful capital campaigns. He and his wife Susan have two daughters.
