Elevating our campus
Our four fraternities and three sororities stress the importance of academics, character, leadership, and service to the community—all of which complement the mission of the College. Hillsdale College has been named one of the fifty best colleges in the nation for Greek life, according to Best College Reviews, which noted that our sororities and fraternities are “dedicated to making Hillsdale a better place.” Over 30 percent of our students are members of Greek organizations. And as a group, they’re among our highest achievers.
Six thousand. That’s how many service hours Hillsdale fraternity and sorority members gave back to the community last year.
Creating social events that bring people together, building men and women of character and integrity, and serving the community are the foundation of Greek life at Hillsdale.
The Panhellenic Council is the umbrella organization over all sororities at Hillsdale College, while Interfraternity Council (IFC) is a governing body for all campus fraternities. The Panhellenic Council and IFC set policies, procedures, schedules, etc., for all fraternities and sororities on campus. Panhellenic and IFC are student-run and are advised by a Panhellenic and IFC Advisor from the Student Affairs staff. Hillsdale College Panhellenic and IFC councils support and enforce national policies of sororities and fraternities as well as campus policies and local, state, and federal laws.
