Biography
Ivan Pongracic, Jr. is the William E. Hibbs/Ludwig von Mises Professor of Economics at Hillsdale College, where he has been teaching since 2000. He received his bachelor of science degree in aeronautical and aerospace engineering from Purdue University in 1992, and his doctorate in economics from George Mason University in 2004. Ivan was born and raised in former socialist Yugoslavia, his family immigrating to the U.S. in 1984 when he was 14 years old. He has worked with many economic policy organizations through the years, among them the Foundation for Economic Education, The Independent Institute, Cato Institute, Mercatus Center, Young America’s Foundation, and the Liberty Fund. His book Employees and Entrepreneurship was published in 2009 by Edward Elgar Publishing.
