Biography
Roxanne Kaufman joined Hillsdale’s faculty in 2018. Prior to teaching at Hillsdale College, Kaufman taught full time at Spring Arbor University for three years, and prior to that experience, taught full time at Trine University in Angola, Indiana, for two years. Leading up to her full-time positions, Kaufman taught as a part-time art professor at a number of schools, including Hillsdale College.
As an artist, Kaufman practices and studies photography and illustration. She has been formally trained to develop photographs both in the darkroom and digitally. She states, “The darkroom is a portal to the unknown… nothing ever goes the same way twice. Time seems to stop in the glow of the safety light, and before you know it, hours have passed in the world outside. It is a captivating muse, the darkroom. She tricks you into lingering longer than you meant to.”
