HILLSDALE, Mich. — The John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center hosted the grand opening of its new restaurant, the AcuSport Grill, on Tuesday, May 10. The restaurant provides a top-scale experience for guests and members of the range.

“Due to growing demand at the Halter Center during our second full year of partnership with USA Shooting, we can expect a large number of shooters and spectators on site at any time,” said Tim Wells, executive director of administrative affairs. “Elite cooking adds another benefit and layer to the many events going on at the Halter Center.”

In the past, Bon Appetit has catered food to the Halter Center from the College. Wells said the College is happy to provide this new on-site restaurant for the many regular guests who frequent the center as well as the greater community.

“Good food always enhances an atmosphere,” said Wells. “We are excited to offer the public another avenue to become aware of — and interested in — shooting sports.”

The restaurant eating area includes bistro and sit-down tables and is open to the public whether or not they plan to utilize the shooting facilities. Menu items include burgers, sandwiches, and salads, and are priced and portioned similarly to other local eating establishments.

“The chef will prepare a menu with full-table service,” said Benito Suero, general manager of Bon Appetit.

The AcuSport Grill will also feature upscale Grab ’n Go options, including salads, deli sandwiches, a variety of snacks, sides and beverages, and baked in-house desserts.

Hours of operations are currently 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. These hours are subject to change as needed.

The Halter Center was built in 2008 with a moderate commercial kitchen. No renovations were necessary for the preparation and opening of AcuSport Grill.
