Hillsdale College Department of Philosophy and Religion Presents Lecture Series
J. P. Moreland presents on “Got Belief? The Rationality of Belief in God Over Unbelief (and Why It Matters)”
From Wednesday, April 11 through Thursday, April 12, the Hillsdale College department of philosophy and religion welcomed Dr. J. P. Moreland as their featured speaker in this year’s Faith in Life lecture series titled “Got Belief? The Rationality of Belief in God Over Unbelief (and Why It Matters).” Dr. Moreland delivered three public lectures titled “How Christians Lost their Minds,” “A Case for the Existence of God” and “From Monotheism to Christianity.”
Dr. J. P. Moreland, distinguished professor of philosophy at Talbot School of Theology, is listed as one of the 50 most influential living philosophers according to The Best Schools. His areas of expertise are metaphysics, philosophy of mind, theological and philosophical anthropology, Christian apologetics and spiritual formation, and he has debated and lectured on over 175 college campuses around the country. Dr. Moreland is author or co-author of 30 books and has published over 70 journal articles. In addition, he has co-planted three churches, worked 10 years for Campus Crusade for Christ, and served eight years as bioethicist for PersonaCare Nursing Homes, Inc. of Baltimore, MD.
Each year, the Faith in Life lecture series brings to campus a distinguished speaker to discuss the importance of scholarship and personal faith. Past series have featured Ken Myers; Kevin J. Vanhoozer; Peter J. Leithart; R. Al-bert Mohler, Jr.; Ray Ortlund, Jr.; Donald Kraybill; and John Piper.
