Hillsdale College Hosts Speech by Former Reagan Advisor Arthur Laffer

Presidential economic advisor to discuss the economic policies of the Trump administration

Hillsdale, Mich. – On Monday, January 21, 2019, Hillsdale College will host a public speech by Arthur B. Laffer, founder and chairman of Laffer Associates and former economic advisor to President Ronald Reagan.

Laffer’s speech, “Trumponomics: An Economic Overview of America Today,” will explore the economic im- pacts of President Donald Trump’s approach to economic revitalization. The talk will draw on the ideas laid out in Laffer’s recently released book, co-authored with leading economist Stephen Moore, Trumponomics: Inside the America First Plan to Revive Our Economy.

WHO

Arthur B. Laffer is the founder and chairman of economic research firm Laffer Associates. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Yale University and an MBA and Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University. Laffer previously served as the first chief economist for the Office of Management and Budget and as a consultant for Secretaries of the Treasury William Simon and George Shultz and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. He was a member of president Ronald Reagan’s Economic Policy Advisory Board and was named one of Time magazine’s “Century’s Greatest Minds” in 1999. He is the author of numerous books, including The End of Prosperity: How Higher Taxes Will Doom the Economy–If We Let It Happen and co-author, with Stephen Moore, of Trumponomics: Inside the America First Plan to Revive Our Economy.
