Hillsdale College Receives NCAA Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence

November 13, 2015 – Hillsdale, MI

Hillsdale College received its fourth consecutive NCAA Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence, which recognizes Division II schools with exemplary Academic Success Ratings (ASR). Hillsdale is the only school in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), the only school in Michigan, and one of 27 Division II institutions nationwide to earn the Presidents’ Award in 2015.

“The Presidents’ Award represents the highest compliment to our coaching staff and our outstanding studentathletes,” said Don Brubacher, director of athletics at Hillsdale College. “Student-athletes at Hillsdale College are held to the same academic standards of every student on campus. The academic curriculum is rigorous, but they consistently rise to the occasion. We are extremely proud of what our student-athletes accomplish in the classroom and on the fields and courts.”

Hillsdale earned an ASR of 93 in 2015 and tied for sixth overall among all NCAA Division II member schools. The ASR is the percentage of student-athletes who graduate within six years of initial enrollment in college and includes virtually all Division II student-athletes, including transfers and those not receiving athletic scholarships.
