Political Economy Senior Thesis

The senior thesis in Political Economy is a one-credit course that serves as a capstone for the major. The purpose is to allow the student to demonstrate his or her ability to analyze a topic in political economy using the knowledge gained from their course work in history, political science and economics. The paper is expected to be approximately 25 pages in length, although this may vary according to the topic and method of analysis. It is suggested that the paper follow the general guideline of: (1) a statement of the topic and why it is of interest; (2) a review of the literature; and (3) the student’s own analysis of the topic which will incorporate the literature review and the student’s background knowledge.
