A close study of a particular social and textual slice of the first—and second—century Hellenistic world with which the early Church interacted. Topics, to vary from year to year, include Gnostics, Pagans, and Heretics; Judaism in the Greco-Roman World; Ancient Mediterranean Mystery Religions; the Social Context of Early Christianity; and History of Ancient Christianity.
