Biography

I joined the faculty of Hillsdale College in 2007, eager to join in the project of liberal education. Here, our students develop a “health of the mind” whereby they cultivate the ability to know, and to understand what is real. The contribution of chemistry to this grand undertaking is the ability to “see” the molecular causes for physical phenomena. I love leading students in exploring fundamental theories that explain (to the best of our current understanding) what our amazing universe is actually like! To do this alongside brilliant and friendly colleagues who are passionate about their disciplines and the mission of Hillsdale College has been very rewarding.
