Eric Metaxas Announced As 2014 Commencement Speaker

We are pleased to announce that Eric Metaxas has agreed to be our 2014 Commencement speaker.

Eric Metaxas is the bestselling author of numerous biographies, children’s books, and works of popular apologetics, including Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy; Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery; and, most recently, Seven Men and the Secret of Their Greatness. A graduate of Yale University—where he edited the Yale Record, the nation’s oldest college humor magazine—he has written for Atlantic Monthly, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Regeneration Quarterly, Christianity Today, National Review Online, Beliefnet and First Things. He is the founder and host of Socrates in the City: Conversations on the Examined Life, a monthly event of entertaining and thought provoking discussions in New York City, and along with his colleague John Stonestreet he is the voice of BreakPoint, a radio commentary broadcast on 1,400 radio outlets. Mr. Metaxas is the recipient of the Canterbury Medal, awarded by the Becket Fund for Religious Freedom, and the Great Defender of Life Award, which he received jointly with his wife from the Human Life Review. In 2012, he served as the keynote speaker at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC.
