HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Baseball team will play its first game on the newly built TFO Partners Field on March 16.

“We are very grateful to TFO Partners for making this new state-of-the-art field possible,” said Head Baseball Coach Tom Vessella. “The new facility will greatly enhance our program, allowing us to host more events and stand out as an attractive destination for future Hillsdale baseball players.”

The TFO Partners Field, on the north side of the Roche Sports Complex, was constructed in 2024 to replace Simpson Field, the home of Chargers baseball and softball since 1961. The state-of-the-art turf field and lighting allows for play in a variety of different weather conditions and at night. It also features a new video board past the outfield fence.

TFO Partners is a family of wealth management, family office, and trust services firms owned by Cleves Delp, a 1986 graduate of Hillsdale College and a member of its Board of Trustees. Its Ohio firm, TFO Wealth Partners, provides wealth management and family office services for individuals, families, and business owners which has grown to office locations in five states, largely under Delp’s direction.

“Hillsdale College changed my life and the lives of my children, each of whom has gone to school there. It is where we learned the highest things,” said Delp. “It is my honor to give back to an institution that has done so much for me.” This gift is the latest of many, which include John J. Delp Hall, dedicated in 2000; Delp Court (basketball/volleyball), completed in 2014; and the Mary Jane Delp Tennis Courts, dedicated in 2016.

Along with the field, the new Lenda and Glenda Hill Stadium includes a newly-constructed grandstand with seating for 300 spectators, a press box, concession stand, and bathrooms. The new stadium and field’s official dedication will take place on April 27.
