Hillsdale College Blake Center for Faith and Freedom Announces 2024 Event Schedule
HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Blake Center for Faith and Freedom, located in Somers, Connecticut, is set to host numerous events this year. These events aim to further the mission of Hillsdale College and focus on Christianity, the Western tradition of liberty, and their intersection. They include:
• Feb. 22: Our Sacred Honor: George Washington as America’s Founder, featuring Dr. Matthew Spalding, dean of Hillsdale’s graduate school of government and author of “We Still Hold These Truths”
• March 8: K-12 Education & American Civic Virtues, featuring Dr. Wilfred McClay, author of celebrated American history textbook “Land of Hope”
• March 25: C.S. Lewis’ “The Chronicles of Narnia,” featuring Dr. Michael Ward, author of “The Narnia Code”
• April 3-6: American Foreign Policy, featuring Michael Anton, former senior White House national security official
• April 20: Somers Rotary Club Fishing Derby
• Aug. 8: Exodus, featuring Dr. Justin Jackson, Hillsdale College professor of English
• Sept. 20: C.S. Lewis’ “Mere Christianity,” featuring Dr. Michael Ward
• Dec. 13: Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” featuring Dr. Dwight Lindley, Hillsdale College professor of English
“We are pleased to offer events on a wide variety of topics this year,” said Labin Duke, executive director of the Blake Center. “They all point back to questions of faith and freedom. Exploring those questions are essential to our mission here at the Blake Center, and we hope that all will join us in it.”
