HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Choir and Chamber Choir performed their annual fall concert on Nov. 12 at Christ Chapel. Hillsdale College faculty, staff, students, and friends attended the concert, which was directed by Visiting Professor Brad Holmes.

The concert featured a broad variety of music from five centuries, from Monteverdi to Mozart to contemporary compositions and folk-song arrangements. Selections were arranged in four groups, reflecting on various aspects of the human condition. The concert also explored architectural aspects of Christ Chapel by using balconies and aisles as performance locations.

“I am honored to conduct such dedicated students,” said Holmes. “They worked hard this semester on their individual ability and the sectional teamwork to blend their sound into one voice.”

The Hillsdale College Choir is a mixed choral ensemble open to all Hillsdale College students. The Chamber Choir is selected by audition from among the larger Hillsdale College Choir. More than 25 percent of Hillsdale College’s student body participate in one or more of the College’s music ensembles.
