Hillsdale College Class of 2022 Announces Senior Class Gift Initiative
New pavilion will host orientation events, performances, and other student activities
HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Class of 2022 has committed to help fund a new pavilion at an unveiling event in the Searle Center on Jan. 13. The new pavilion will be a convenient and welcoming space to host orientation events, performances, and other student activities.
The pavilion will include a large, sheltered space with a warming kitchen, bathrooms, and an indoor conference room and meeting space. Outside features will include a patio, barbecue grill, and fireplace. It will be located on campus between the Mu Alpha men’s music honorary house and the Paul House dormitory.
The senior class gift initiative is chosen by the Legacy Board, which is comprised of seven members from the graduating class. The board plans to raise $20,000 in pledges through senior class memberships in the 1844 Society, Hillsdale’s exclusive monthly giving group for its generous and faithful students and alumni.
Alumni members of Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity also helped to make this pavilion space possible by donating the land needed for the pavilion building.
“We are thankful for the generosity of the men of Phi Sigma Epsilon and their commitment to Hillsdale College,” said Colleen McGinness, executive director of Alumni Relations. “This gift will be a wonderful way to accommodate events that help to grow friendship and community within our college.”
