HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Contact Center and eCommerce department have moved to 44 North Howell St., the former location of Current Office Solutions. Previously located on the Hillsdale College campus in the basement of Kendall Hall and the Fowler Maintenance Building, respectively, these two departments will bring important, nationally-facing campus operations to downtown Hillsdale.

“The Contact Center handles 100,000 inbound and 200,000 outbound calls each year,” said Mary Margaret Spiteri, director of the Contact Center. “We answer questions and fulfill requests concerning the college itself, admissions, Imprimis, online courses — everything.”

“In the 2022 fiscal year, the eCommerce department fulfilled more than 9,000 orders and shipped more than 20,000 products to all 50 states and several cities internationally,” said John Quint, director of eCommerce, printing, mailing, and fulfillment.

Each department utilizes Hillsdale College students in their operations, which means more students will have the opportunity to spend time downtown. The college anticipates as many as 80 students will begin working there this fall. “We are always encouraging students to go to local businesses,” said Spiteri. “Students and staff already working at the new address now head to downtown businesses for coffee, meals, or church services every day.” Shuttles will provide transportation for student workers into town and back to campus for their shifts.

The Contact Center and eCommerce department will host an open house in mid-to-late-September. The date will be announced once the two departments have settled. Members of the community and the College are invited to stop in to see the new facility.
