Hillsdale College Freedom Forum in Scottsdale Addresses “Freedom and Western Civilization”
HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College hosted a Freedom Forum in Scottsdale, Arizona on Jan. 4-5. The two-day seminar focused on the theme “Freedom and Western Civilization” and included six lectures by three Hillsdale College faculty members. The lectures offered an introductory overview of the kind of education students receive at Hillsdale College.
The seminar took place at the Embassy Suites Scottsdale Resort. Speakers included Kevin Portteus, associate professor of politics, Charles Steele, chairman of economics, business, and accounting, and David Whalen, associate vice president for curriculum.
“The Freedom Forum in Scottsdale provided attendees with the unique opportunity to attend thought-provoking and engaging lectures by Hillsdale College professors,” said Peggy Youngs, senior director of lifelong learning. “We are grateful to our professors for the willingness to deliver these presentations.”
