Hillsdale College Freedom Forum in The Villages Addresses “Freedom and Western Civilization”

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College hosted a Freedom Forum in The Villages, Florida on March 13 and 14. The two-day seminar focused on the theme “Freedom and Western Civilization” and included six lectures by three Hillsdale College faculty members. The lectures offered an introductory overview of the kind of education students receive at Hillsdale College.

The seminar took place at The Brownwood Hotel and Spa. Speakers included Professor of Economics Ivan Pongracic, Jr., Associate Professor of Politics Kevin Slack, and Professor of English Stephen Smith. “The Freedom Forum in The Villages provided attendees with the unique opportunity to attend thought-provoking and engaging lectures by Hillsdale College professors,” said Peggy Youngs, senior director of lifelong learning. “We are grateful to our professors for the willingness to deliver these presentations.”

Hillsdale College Freedom Forums provide guests with lectures that explore the meaning of freedom from an interdisciplinary perspective. The seminars are open to the public of all ages and cost $50 per attendee. Learn more about Hillsdale College Freedom Forums here.
