Hillsdale College Graduate School of Classical Education to Offer Hybrid Program
HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Diana Davis Spencer Graduate School of Classical Education at Hillsdale College will begin offering a hybrid program starting in the summer of 2024. The new program will make it possible for students to earn their master’s degrees while continuing their work in the classroom.
“The teachers and school administrators who are interested in our program are hardworking professionals, and many of them have families,” said Daniel Coupland, the graduate school’s dean. “It can be prohibitive for them to leave their careers for graduate school. This hybrid option will make it possible for them to further their own education and become better in their work.”
The hybrid program is a three-year, part-time program. Students take one class at a time, totaling 36 credit hours. Participants will attend virtual classes during the school year and attend one-week summer intensive sessions, which are required each of the three summers.
The residential and hybrid programs both offer students a broad philosophical, historical, literary, curricular, and pedagogical perspective on education. “Students in the hybrid program will receive a high-quality graduate school education, just like the students partaking in the residential option,” Coupland said.
Scholarships, financial aid, and private loans are available. Applications are due Dec. 15, 2023. For more information on the Diana Davis Spencer Graduate School of Classical Education and how to apply, click here.
