Hillsdale College Halter Center Hosts USA Shooting Shotgun National Championships

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center hosted the USA Shooting Skeet and Trap National Championships. The skeet competition took place from May 17-22; the trap competition took place from May 23-28. These championships selected the 2023 World Championship Team and Pan American Team. It was also the first part of the Olympic Trials for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

“We saw some of the best shooters in the world at this event,” said Caitlin Connor Royer, assistant program development and competition manager at the Halter Center. “The Hillsdale College Halter Center is proud to serve our national team as they prepare for the Paris Olympics next summer.”

During the competition, the 2023 Pan American Games team, 2023 World Championships team, and 2023 Junior World Championships team were named.

Skeet Team: Vincent Hancock, Austen Smith, Dustan Taylor, and Dania Vizzi
Trap Team: Alicia Gough, William Hinton, Derrick Mein, and Rachel Tozier

2023 World Championships Team:
Skeet Team: Vincent Hancock, Christian Elliot, Samantha Simonton, Austen Smith, Dustan Taylor, and Dania Vizzi

2023 Junior World Championships Team:
Skeet Team: Aidin Burns, Joshua Corbin, Madeline Corbin, Kyle Fleck, Jessi Griffin, Benjamin Keller, Alishia “Fayth” Layne, Julia “Lia” Nelson, Karsyn Ross, and Jordan Sapp
Trap Team: Owen Bin, Ramsey Bodeen, William Browning, Kaleigh Castillo, Caleb Cutler, Taylor Dale, Ava Downs, Carey Garrison, Matthew Kutz, and Ryann Phillips
