Hillsdale College Halter Shooting Sports Education Center Announces Upcoming Leagues

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center announces its five upcoming league programs. The Halter Center will host the following programs:

  • March: Winter Trap League, Saturdays 10 a.m. – 1p.m. (March 11 – April 1)
  • May: Pistol League, Saturdays 10 a.m. – 1p.m. (April 29 – May 20)
  • July: Sporting Clays League, Thursday evenings 4 – 6:30 p.m. (July 6 – 27)
  • August: 5 Stand League, Wednesdays 4 – 6:30 p.m. (August 2 – 23)
  • September: Pistol League, Saturdays 10 a.m. – 1p.m. (September 2- 23)

The first-place prize in the March Winter Trap League is a one-year membership. The program costs $60 for non-members and $50 for members. The May pistol league will focus on defensive pistol marksmanship.

“We are excited to offer these opportunities for people to learn more about and participate in several different shooting sports over the next few months,” said McLain Driver, membership and site coordinator at the Halter Center. “It is a great opportunity for shooters to come to experience the wonderful facilities Halter has to offer firsthand and have some competitive fun, too.”

About the John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center   

The Halter Center is a state-of-the-art shooting facility located five miles from the Hillsdale College campus. Opened in 2008, the Center aims to introduce individuals to shooting sports and encourage interest across all levels of experience. The Halter Center also serves an educational purpose by promoting the principles of the Constitution and teaching beginner and experienced shooters in various classes. Hillsdale College has been the home of the USA Shooting National Team since 2019 and has hosted USA Shooting Junior Olympic Trap and Skeet development camps and championships. The Center boasts 113 range acres, four international skeet fields, a 22-station sporting clays course, five international bunkers, a small arms range, an action shooting range, a five-stand range, an international archery range, nine American Trap fields, and an AcuSport lodge and grill.
