Hillsdale College Hosts 2023 Homecoming Celebration
HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College hosted its annual Homecoming Celebration from Sept. 22-23. Students, faculty, alumni, and their families visited campus for a football game, tailgate, parade, and more.
“It is always great to welcome back our alumni,” Executive Director of Alumni Relations Colleen McGinness said. “From graduates long ago to new alumni, it is a joyous time to reconnect and celebrate what it means to be a Charger. Hillsdale is about the people, and I am so glad our alumni continue to bring their spirit and love for Hillsdale every homecoming.”
The Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet was on Friday in the Searle Center. This year’s class featured Silvia Siqueira, ’93, (women’s tennis), Mike Broome, ’82, (football), Troy Salvior, ’90, (baseball), Ken Moorehead, ’71, (men’s basketball), and Ralph Perriello, ’64, (football/posthumous).
On Saturday, the college hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Phi Sig Pavilion, which will feature a multipurpose building, a kitchen, a two-sided fireplace, and a patio with a grill and bar. The pavilion can also be used for events such as Student Activities Board events, alumni reunions, and small classes.
Following the ceremony and a tailgate, Charger football played Findlay University for the first home game of the season. Alumni enjoyed the “Fifth Quarter” from the President’s Hospitality Suite and Lounge and watched students compete in the annual Mock Rock Dance Competition to take home the coveted Homecoming trophy.
