Hillsdale College Hosts Alumni for Third Annual White & Blue Weekend and Honors Distinguished Alumni
HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College held its third annual White & Blue Alumni Weekend from May 18 to 21. “The White & Blue Weekend is meant to bring old friends back to campus and to honor some of our most distinguished alumni” said Colleen McGinness, executive director of Alumni Relations. “This year’s weekend was a hit. We are pleased that it continues to be popular and enjoyable for alumni and their families.”
Throughout the weekend, attending alumni and their families had the ability to participate in a variety of activities, including wine tasting on the Quad, sitting in on classes with professors, a children and youth day camp at Michindoh Conference Center, pickleball and euchre tournaments, and a memorial service at the Civil War statue.
The event culminated in the 72nd Annual Alumni Awards Banquet, which took place on Saturday evening and honored four alumni: Joseph Cella (’91), who served as the United States ambassador to Fiji under President Donald Trump; Stan Crosley (’85), founder and managing partner of Crosley Law Offices and former chief privacy officer at Eli Lilly and Company; Ingrid Langsather Jacques (’02), an award-winning journalist and columnist for USA Today; and Elizabeth Smith Friedman (1915), a codebreaker whose work is credited with helping the United States and its allies win both world wars.
The weekend concluded with a Sunday morning brunch and worship service in Christ Chapel.
