HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College welcomed parents to campus for Parents Weekend from Oct. 27-29. The event is held once each semester and serves as an occasion for parents to visit their children and learn more about life and education at Hillsdale.

“Parents Weekend is a perfect opportunity for parents to see the lives of their students on campus,” said Director of Parent Relations Maree Socha. “We appreciate all of our Hillsdale parents and want to provide a place for them to connect with their student and one another.”

The highlight of the weekend is parent-faculty conferences during which parents are invited to meet with professors to learn more about their children’s courses and performance.

“Even though parent-faculty conferences are rare in higher education, Hillsdale sees the value in forming a special partnership with the parents of our students,” said Socha. “This approach ensures the student is supported on all sides in their academic endeavors.”

Over the course of the weekend, parents had the opportunity to attend various other events across campus, including a football game and performances by the Hillsdale symphony orchestra. Parents were also invited by Hillsdale College’s Career Services to conduct mock interviews with students who are preparing to enter the job market.
