HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College hosted New York Post columnist Miranda Devine as the college’s fall 2023 Eugene C. Pulliam distinguished visiting fellow in journalism from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1. Devine is the author of the bestselling book “Laptop from Hell: Hunter Biden, Big Tech, and the Dirty Secrets the President Tried to Hide.”

On Oct. 26, Devine presented a public lecture titled “Laptop from Hell: An Update,” which highlighted the discovery of the laptop, the aftermath of the reporting, and the allegations of corruption within the Biden family. “This censorship and this coverup was all done to bury derogatory information about one of the two candidates for president in 2020,” said Devine. “It’s about the federal government and agencies coercing social media to censor the speech of Americans and the laptop from hell.”

Devine is a graduate of Macquarie University, Northwestern University, and the University of Sydney. She hosted “The Miranda Devine Show” on Sydney radio station 2GB before writing as a columnist for the New York Post, with pieces featured in the Sydney Morning Herald, the Sun-Herald, Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph, Melbourne’s Sunday Herald Sun, and Perth’s Sunday Times.

As a Pulliam fellow, Devine joins a list of notable journalists who have lent their skills to Hillsdale College, including Alexandra DeSanctis, Andrew Klavan, and Kimberley Strassel. Pulliam fellows enjoy a two-week residency on Hillsdale’s campus and teach a weeklong, one-credit course in the Journalism Department. This semester, ten students took the course, titled “Investigative Journalism.” Fellows also consult with students who work on the college’s student-run newspaper, The Collegian.
