Hillsdale community members were invited to Trick-or-Treat from cars decorated by Hillsdale College students

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosted its third annual Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, Oct. 30. Hillsdale College athletic teams, clubs, dorms, fraternities, and sororities set up booths, provided games for local trick-or-treaters, and decorated cars. The event was open to the greater Hillsdale community, with about 450 children attending throughout the afternoon.

“Trunk-or-Treat is a great way for teams to bond, but it also provides a great opportunity for students to connect with community members and other teams and student organizations,” said Tyler Conrad, president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. “There was a great turnout this year from both college students and community members.”

Hillsdale College students representing 23 different campus groups participated, with 36 cars and trick-or-treat stations. Each participating group provided candy, but the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee also hosted candy donations throughout the week to supply some extra sweets during the festivities.

The event also raised over $400 for Make-a-Wish Michigan.

“We are thankful for the volunteers and donors who made it possible for student-athletes to support the community in this way,” Conrad said.

Hillsdale College’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee organized the event for the last three years to provide the children of Hillsdale County an opportunity to trick-or-treat safely outdoors.
