HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Music Department Student Chamber Ensembles performed in Christ Chapel on March 4 during Parents Weekend. Students, faculty and staff, families, and members of the community attended the performance.

The performance featured a variety of instrumental ensembles and vocalists presenting classical as well as more recent works, including on original composition by student Ethan Graham (‘24). “The Parents Weekend recital was a great opportunity for our students to present the work they do in a smaller, chamber setting, performing music of more intricate detail and complexity,” said Daniel Tacke, chair of the Hillsdale College Music Department. “This is an aspect of our departmental activities that is sometimes overlooked alongside the larger ensembles, but is a tremendously important part of what we do, and it was wonderful to be able to showcase these performances for our guests and community.”

The Music Department will present several additional performances in the coming weeks, including a solo harpsichord recital by Tacke on March 20 and 21, followed by the Hillsdale Percussion Ensemble’s annual concert on March 25.
