Hillsdale College Names Scot Bertram General Manager of New FM Radio Station, WRFH 101.7

Hillsdale College today announced that Scot Bertram will serve as the first general manager of Radio Free Hillsdale, the College’s new campus radio station on WRFH 101.7.

With more than 15 years of experience in broadcast media, Bertram will oversee the station’s operations and teach Hillsdale students radio communications and production. The WRFH 101.7 radio station has a five-mile signal band on campus and will broadcast music and talk programming when it is fully operational in 2016.

“Radio Free Hillsdale is an exciting way for the College to engage with new and current audiences,” said John J. Miller, director of the College’s Dow Journalism Program. “Scot’s extensive experience in communication and radio allows him to bring a fresh perspective to this new platform for our students. We’re thrilled to welcome Scot to Hillsdale College.”

Bertram most recently served as program director and morning co-host of “Riley & Scot,” the No. 1 talk show on WROK 1440 in Rockford, Ill. He has also worked as a producer and reporter for ESPN radio in Chicago.

Scot graduated from North Central College in Naperville, Ill. He and his wife, Robin, have two children.
