HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College’s most popular online course, “Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution,” is now adding Spanish subtitles. “The purpose of our online courses program is to teach everyone who wishes to learn, so we’re excited that these subtitles can help reach a new audience of people eager to learn about American history and the U.S. Constitution,” said Kyle Murnen, director of online learning.

Since its launch in 2011, over 1.5 million people have enrolled in “Constitution 101,” which was updated in 2019. The course explains the natural rights theory of the founding, the meaning Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, the crisis of the Civil War, the Progressive rejection of the founding, and the nature of the modern administrative state. It features lectures from Hillsdale College President Larry P. Arnn and politics professors Ronald J. Pestritto, Thomas G. West, John Grant, and Kevin Portteus.

Since the debut of “Constitution 101,” Hillsdale College has released more than 30 courses. They typically feature lectures from Hillsdale College faculty members, course readings, videos, study guides, and a discussion board. Those that take the course can complete a final quiz to receive a certificate of completion.
