Hillsdale, Mich. — As the state of Michigan relaxes restrictions related to the coronavirus crisis, Hillsdale
College announces the reopening of its John A. Halter Shooting Sports Education Center and its two hospitality
venues: the Dow Hotel and Conference Center, located on Hillsdale College’s main campus, and the Rockwell
Lake Lodge, located in northwestern Michigan.

The Halter Center, located five miles from the Hillsdale College campus, reopened to the public on June 4. New
safety and sanitation practices include contactless check-in and payment, frequent cleaning of restrooms and
high-traffic areas, expanded outdoor seating, and one guest per party at a time in the AcuSport Lodge. Shooting
stations are already spaced at least six feet apart.

“The Halter Center is already perfectly suited to socially distanced recreation, with plenty of outdoor activities
for enthusiasts of all ages,” said Bart Spieth, rangemaster at the John A. Halter Shooting Sports Education
Center. “We’re eager to welcome back our members and the general public to enjoy all that we have to offer.”
Public hours at the Halter Center are Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Saturdays from
9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Visit the website for more information.

The Dow Hotel and Conference Center, located on the Hillsdale College campus, reopened on June 1. The
Rockwell Lake Lodge, located in Luther, Michigan, reopened on June 10. Both venues have re-committed to
the highest standards of anti-viral sanitation and have updated guest, dining, and staff policies to ensure the
safety and well-being of guests and staff. Practices include contactless check-in and check-out, frequent
disinfection of high-traffic areas, and hand sanitizer available to all guests. As a precautionary measure, all
housekeepers and front desk attendants will wear masks and gloves during interactions with guests. Both venues
are also equipped to accommodate groups in a responsible and safe manner.

“We’re excited to welcome guests to our venues once again,” said Aaron Tracey, director of hospitality
operations at Hillsdale College. “It has always been our goal to provide our guests with the highest level of
service, and we will continue to exceed expectations when it comes to safety and sanitation. We’re ready to help
make your stay memorable, enjoyable, and worry-free.”
