Hillsdale College Senior Emily Oren Wins 2015 GLIAC Women’s Cross Country Championship

Hillsdale College congratulates senior Emily Oren for winning the 2015 GLIAC Women’s Cross Country Championship on October 24 at the Kensington Metro Park in Milford, Mich. Oren won the 6K in 21:11.1, more than seven seconds faster than the runner-up. The Chargers are ranked No. 3 nationally in the USTFCCCA National Coaches’ Poll.

“Everyone did such an amazing job,” said Oren. “With this being my last year, I’m really giving it all I’ve got and trying to finish every race as my strongest. I’m so grateful to be a part of such a talented team.”

Hillsdale College senior Kristina Galat placed 4th overall with a time of 21:35.6. Hillsdale’s Hannah McIntyre and Grand Valley State’s Jordan Chester were listed with identical times of 21:43.9, however, the official results gave 5th place to Chester and 6th place to McIntyre, a crucial point swing between the two teams.

Junior Molly Oren took ninth overall at 22:05.1, while Hillsdale’s fifth scorer was freshman Allysen Eads, who was 19th with a time of 22:44.3.

Both Oren sisters, Galat, and McIntyre were named First-Team All-GLIAC due to their performances at the meet.
