Hillsdale, Mich. – Hillsdale College has a limited number of spaces available for its 2017 shooting sports seminars and camps:
- Liberty and Learning Youth Conference (June 7-10 and July 19-22)
- Couples for Liberty (June 25-30)
- Ladies for Liberty (July 30-August 3)
The camps teach participants of all experience levels shooting sports techniques and gun safety. Participants also attend lectures by Hillsdale College faculty members on topics related to the Constitution, including the Second Amendment. Camps will take place at Hillsdale College’s John A. Halter Shooting Sports Education Center, a 113-acre, state-of-the-art training facility just five miles from the College’s main campus in Hillsdale, Michigan.
“Hillsdale’s shooting camps provide both practical safety and skills training, as well as an understanding of the rights provided to gun owners in the Constitution,” said Bart Spieth, range master at the Halter Center. “This focus on the Constitution gives students the intellectual ammunition and historical perspective to defend their Second Amendment rights.”
Enrollment fees range from $200 per person for the youth camp to $2,785 per couple for the couples camp. Fees cover lodging, meals, lectures, and receptions at the Dow Conference Center on the Hillsdale College campus, as well as all lessons held at the Halter Shooting Sports Education Center.
Topics include:
- An introduction to handgun function and operation
- Seminar on the Constitution
- Self-defense at home and away
- Comparison of semi-automatic pistols and revolvers
